Swinfen Hall is an 18th-century Grade II* listed country mansion house, now converted into a hotel, situated at Swinfen located just south of Lichfield city. Swinfen Hall has been one of Staffordshire’s premier hotels, but has struggled to compete in more recent years due to lack of facilities that might be expected of a country retreat. This project would see a reinvigoration of the site, bringing the building back into the centre of the local tourism and leisure industry.

Following the acquisition of Swinfen Hall Hotel by the Bushell Investment Group, the magnificent 100-acre estate site will be redeveloped into a luxury five-star hotel with leisure facilities, including indoor and outdoor pool, gym, spa treatment rooms, eco-pods, outdoor hot tubs and luxury self-catering accommodation in the Victorian Walled Garden. The redevelopment also includes a new function suite building with hotel rooms at first floor.

The proposed redevelopment will increase bedrooms and add a secondary informal restaurant and SPA facility, which will enable Swinfen Hall to appeal to a much wider base of leisure customers and family guests looking for a perfect UK based staycation or weekend away. The redevelopment of Swinfen Hall will revitalise this splendid estate, re-invigorate the commercial sustainability of this hotel and add huge benefit to the local economy for the short, medium and long term.

CASE STUDY: Internal Wall Insulation

The Master’s House, St John’s Hosptial, Lichfield.

Assessment of historic fabric to ensure a secure understanding of the historic fabric, and how appropriate breathable insulat ions and secondary glazing could be sympathetically installed.

Solution: A breathable IWI Sheep Wool Insulation and lime mortar on wood wool. Sympathetic interiors following the completed installation of secondary glazing, breathable insulation, lime plaster and breathable decorations. The property has reduced its winter energy costs and enjoys a more comfortable thermal environment.

CAT A fitout Office project located in Birmingham City Centre which achieved Excellent under the BREEAM UK Refurbishment and Fitout criteria. Careful design decisions chosen alongside consulting with BREEAM Professionals allowed us to achieve the required Excellent BREEAM Rating and achieve a modern, flexible and focus driven working space interior fitout.

Our design teams can identify when thermal modelling software, daylight assessment or building fabric analysis is required for U-value calculation or other aspects of building performance.
