Completed in 2011, The Old Glebe is a development of seven luxury residences in a woodland location in the sought-after village of Quorn in Charnwood, Leicestershire. The houses are sensitively designed in a Georgian style to complement the existing streetscene, and range from three-bedroom semi-detached units to five-bedroom villas with detached double garages complete with studio accommodation over.
The development is characterised by attention to detail, with a subtle variety of materials and traditional detailing throughout the site. Walls are in a variety of bricks and render, roofs are plain tile and slate. The roofs vary from deep overhanging eaves with painted rafter feet to brick corbels, there are gabled, hipped and square dormers, and individually designed door surrounds. Boundary treatments, paving materials and planting are carefully planned and to a very high specification.
The houses were designed to exceed Building Regulations standards, incorporating rainwater harvesting and solar hot water technology. Internal specifications are to a very high standard including bespoke designer kitchens fitted by local craftsmen.

Assessment of historic fabric to ensure a secure understanding of the historic fabric, and how appropriate breathable insulat ions and secondary glazing could be sympathetically installed.
Solution: A breathable IWI Sheep Wool Insulation and lime mortar on wood wool. Sympathetic interiors following the completed installation of secondary glazing, breathable insulation, lime plaster and breathable decorations. The property has reduced its winter energy costs and enjoys a more comfortable thermal environment.

CAT A fitout Office project located in Birmingham City Centre which achieved Excellent under the BREEAM UK Refurbishment and Fitout criteria. Careful design decisions chosen alongside consulting with BREEAM Professionals allowed us to achieve the required Excellent BREEAM Rating and achieve a modern, flexible and focus driven working space interior fitout.
Our design teams can identify when thermal modelling software, daylight assessment or building fabric analysis is required for U-value calculation or other aspects of building performance.
