Working in conjunction with Focused Consultancy, BHB Architects have undertaken the architecture and interior design concept for a new microbrewery bar in China. The new brewery and bottling facility will provide a beer production line for the Pearl River Zhujiang Brewery which will supply a modern bar facility in Guangzhou. The new 22,000 ft² bar and brewery will occupy an existing concrete framed building, introducing additional floors and external terraces to promote a new drinking establishment in a contemporary urban Chinese context.
Internal works involved the design of an industrial themed bar, formed around a new ground floor microbrewery. A new feature staircase provides both a visual and physical connection with the upper floors.
The first floor restaurant has been styled in the same vein as the ground floor but with softer and more eclectic furnishings and finishes. This level directly connects to a new external terrace. The terrace acts as a point of entry to a newly created elevated walkway. A living wall has been introduced, promoting the bar in the existing hard industrial landscape.
A further rooftop bar area offers far reaching views along the Pearl River. The simple bar and seating offer a relaxed external environment.
