Brownhill Hayward Brown (BHB) Architects have provided a full architectural service for a private client associated with Elford Rectory, a bespoke, individually designed five bedroom house. Elford Rectory sits within the charming village of Elford inside a conservation area. The plot commands an impressive riverside position with expansive views over the surrounding countryside across the river Tame.
Great emphasis was placed upon the design of this individual house because of its location within the Elford Conservation Area and that the majority of adjacent dwellings are listed (grade II) as being of special architectural and historic interest. The design philosophy was to produce a dwelling of 21st Century construction which responds positively to its historic context. The proposed dwelling takes the form of a traditionally proportioned Georgian style dwelling that incorporates traditional design features such as steeply pitched roofs, bay windows and chimneys.
